Announcement: Online Poker Is. Not. Rigged.
We don’t know who needs to hear this, but online poker is not rigged.
You’ll hear it often: “The site is rigged to ensure big hands clash more often for bigger pots and more rake.”
The funny thing is, you only ever hear losing players say this.
The reason poker might FEEL rigged to these players is purely down to the massive variance that comes with no-limit Texas Hold Em, and when you play the majority of the hands you’re dealt, well, surprise, surprise, you’re going to end up witnessing an insane amount of “bad beats” and coolers.
And worse yet, when you’re playing the majority of your hands against other players who are also playing the majority of their hands, well, that’s just unwinnable poker and only ends with players making deposit after deposit, instead of cash after cash.
So does that mean playing profitable poker is full of boring folding and waiting for big hands? Of course not! That sounds terrible!
Playing winning poker is purely about exploiting the mistakes of your opponents, and because they commit so many errors, we’re able to pick and choose our hands with much more certainty and clarity, and avoid the spots that lead to so many bankrolls going in the wrong direction.
